New CD Release!

George Gritzbach Releases a New Six-Pack of Blues

Through Straw House Entertainment

For immediate release -

George Gritzbach is now available through Straw House Entertainment and iTunes. The Boston based Bluesman releases his new six-pack of music self titled “George Gritzbach”.

The Boston Globe says, “Gritzbach now shows another side as a deeply emotional electric guitarist. He and his band really smoke on classic Blues and R&B tunes.” “An exceptional songwriter...the CD is as good and surprising as he is in person, wonderful original material and knock-out slide guitar work” notes the Washington Post.

When the George Gritzbach Band hits the stage, the air sizzles with excitement. Gritzbach's guitar seems to shimmer with heat alongside his own smoky vocals and steamy harmonica.

Chris LoCascio coaxes his electric keyboard into waves of blues emotion, bass players Rich Hill or Melissa Roberts Weidman pump the coolest bass lines this side of Willie Dixon, and around it all weaves the masterful funky beat of drummer Don Cross.

In demand, Gritzbach and his high energy band strongly rooted in blues, funk and New Orleans, play inventive takes on classics and a healthy helping of innovative originals. Gritzbach has appeared at a wide variety of venues and Festivals across North America, from opening for B.B. King at or Eddie Money, to local nightclubs and Performing Arts Centers. They also have the versatility to also play unplugged acoustic sets for a concert or coffeehouse.

Reviewers have called Gritzbach a “sizzling hot, no holds barred electric bluesman” and “brash, tough, and a tantalizing cut below nasty”. A serious blues devotee who studied with the Rev. Gary Davis, Gritzbach caused a sensation when he first debuted on the New England Blues Scene. Now a seasoned slide guitar and vocal virtuoso, he still burns with energy and passion for the music he loves. Backed by the seasoned blues band, George Gritzbach ignites audiences to dance all night feeling that excitement for a long time to come.

George Gritzbach is now available on iTunes and coming in fall 2010 in your favorite music retailer near you, distributed through SONY/RED.
